Yeah, she peed once right when she got here which I assumed was a sensory overload. Another time she peed when I had to stay late at work. She's learned to like the crate which is good because if she pees in there I just change out the towel. But it was really only those two times early on. She's been totally fine for the 10ish days since.

there are other reasons your dog needs a walk, if you are not up to the obligation dont own one!

Tell your neighbor he's a prick, he owns a dog and is responsible for it and that means walking it, if its too cold he needs to man the fuck up. Hate people who treat animals like ornaments.

Also Litter boxes are fucking nasty, i can only imagine a piss rug is not much better.

dude its like a tiny little dog she can run laps around the house and be fine
and when its nto super cold he walks her usually and duering the summer he walks her like 2-3 times a day
and when he goes out on the motorcycle he leaves her outside on a leash so she can run around all day lol

only thing i hate is i swear hes trained her to go piss n shit in my other neighbors yard on the other sdie cuz he hates him
she pisses in our yard sometimes but always seems to go into his for a shit
hes lucky though cuz if i ever caught the dog shitting in my yard ima pick it up whitha shovel and chuck it at his front door

Massive overreaction O.o there are plenty of ways to properly exercise a dog indoors.

dogs wont run laps around the house with a lazy owner who is too lazy to walk the dog in the first place.

Dogs need fresh air and too actually bound and run in ways they just don't get indoor walking in a circle. Yes it is possible to get enough exercise in large indoor spaces of course, but unless you are taking your dog to a massive indoor dog park where they can run and fetch and interact with other animals then you are depriving them and reducing their quality of life because you are too lazy to take them outside.

e/ Also maybe an over reaction, but i love dogs more than i do people and to think of this poor dog trapped inside all winter pissing on a rug breaks my heart.

Because you have a predisposed, traditionalist, closed-minded opinion on how a dog "should" be raised. That basically eliminates disabled people or the elderly from owning dogs. Fuck grandma and blind people though, right?

Dogs can get fresh air without walks. They can run around and get exercise without walks. Especially small dogs, my friend has a shorkie who will literally run around nonstop in the house til he's pooped then sleep for 6 hours. They can socialize with other dogs without walks. Walks are just the widely accepted form of exercise because it seems simple and has all of the elements. But those elements can be made up elsewhere.

If you're seriously gonna call a guy a prick because he doesn't want to walk his dog in the cold, but you have zero information on what he does to make up for that, you need to re-evaluate things.

My dog runs laps around the house when she wants, on a walk she's stuck by my side on a leash.

Not Gonna get in a big fight about this, at the time small dog was not specified but i still believe exercise indoor vs outdoor is just not that same for them without a huge space.

I never said fuck grandmas, rofl But i do think people who are incapable of providing their pets with the activity they require should hire the services of those who can.

e/Fairne personally i have plenty of spaces where i can let my dog off leash, toronto is a great city for dog and dog lovers so i dont encounter that probelm.

My dog could never get enough exercise in doors unless we were in the skydome :P.
I mean is it really so hard to walk your dog in the winter vs owning a piss matt?
