If they're good enough to be at the top of the league making the playoffs without their best two players, then so be it. They built their team good enough to have that luxury to play that loophole. It is what it is.

They aren't cheating, but it would be nice if the nhl enforced a playoff cap as well, even if it's more (like 5-8mil more) than the regular season. 17mil is just ridiculous. Thats more than 20% of a teams full payroll that they're over.
