Its exhibition games (which never, ever sell out) and in a terrible stadium. If the interest wasn't there for a team they wouldn't sell out. They don't need to average more than 20,000 a game to do well. And with revenue sharing, every single team is profitable.

as much as it hurts to say it, i dont think montreal will ever have the expos back.
i went to more games than i can count in the early 2000's and i only ever saw the big O sell out once, for a home opener one year. other than that, 10$ got you seats behind the dugout.
a baseball team was not sustainable before and nothing has happened to change that.
this is all without even talking about needing a billion dollars for a new stadium.
