Man inflation is getting ugly....
Every week I walk into the grocery store I notice prices have gone up and packaging sizes are getting smaller.
Usually this is a gradual process you barely notice. If inflation continues at the same pace we are absolutely fucked.
Nobodies wages can come close to keeping up with this.
It will also widen the divide between the rich and poor. Those who have assets will see them rise with inflation. Those in debt will fall faster into the hole.
idk as far as groceries go shit has always fluctuated. my mom was complaining about chicken thighs being $10/kg the other day and I'm like, wtf I've been paying 13-15 for years. haven't noticed staple fruits or carbs get more expensive either.
then lactose-free milk was always a rip-off pre-pandemic and I used to pay $5-6 per carton, but now for some reason I often see it on sale for a bit less than that.
I feel like the "nice' stuff has definitively gotten more expensive tho, if you want to have a nice BBQ at home better save some pepper for your wallet. I remember buying top sirloins and steak caps at under $10, now I can't find them under $20. and don't even get me started on imports...
