The night before was awful, but last night was pathetic. I don’t usually complain about the refs, but they power tripped and took over the game. Johnny gets like 6-8 pims a year, and they gave him 12 last night because their egos got bruised.
Sad to say I think we’re done. We need 11 wins. Unless Smith comes back soon, the year’s done. We’re playing with literally our AHL tandem right now, so obviously it’s not working out very well.
Yeah honestly it was brutal all night. Games where it's a parade to the penalty box like last night are no fun to watch, the game has no rhythm to it. I really wish the refs were held more accountable for situations like this because I don't know how else to explain it. Even if the penalty to Johnny was legit (which I've never seen a high sticking penalty with an embellishment call in my fucking life and I've played/watched hockey for almost 25 years). The Flames lack of composure definitely didnt help, but how the fuck do you give Johnny a 2 and 10 when he's in the box with the door closed. Skate away, there was no reason to T him up. Fucking embarrassing.
