Matthias is good enough defensively.

This Hansen Richardson Kassian line isn't doing shit. They don't compliment eachother

Horvat skating on his own. Next step is practice with the team. Might be ready for Saturday's game when the Bolts visit.

Notes:

- Miller was awesome.

- Sedin line was the only one going, which is probably going to be the case for most of the season.

- Stanton our with a lower body injury. Weber in today against the Bolts and Corrado called up from Utica.

- Doesn't look like Horvat will play today

- Lack gets his 1st start.

Notes:

- Lack didn't start off very good but then settled down as the game went on, made some big saves in the 2nd half.

- Forwards really let us down defensively... Henrik on the 1st goal, Henrik and Vrbata on the 2nd, Burrows taking a dumb penalty for the 3rd, Hansen on the 4th. D-men played pretty well defensively overall, except Weber who was shaky.

- Offensively again the 1st line was the only one going for the most part. Power-play looked good but cost us the game because of the inability to finish. We had enough scoring chances to score 5 and win. Vrbata himself coulda had a hatrick.

- 4th line is very good for grinding away but doesn't look like they'll chip in offensively. Bottom-6 can use a shakeup.

Start of a 3-game road-trip:

@ St. Louis on Thursday
@ Colorado on Friday

Then a 4-game home-stand starting with the Caps visiting on Sunday.

Horvat sent to the AHL for a conditioning stint. He can stay there for a maximum of 2 weeks, but I assume he'll only be there for about 3 games.

Dishonor for Connor

Watched the highlights.

What a weird fucking game.

First 30 minutes were Canucks forgetting what Defense is and more or less just playing for Dallas.

Then after that it was the Lehtonen show.

Another game where it felt like we weren't outplayed but stupid mistakes cost us. We had a lot more shots and probably more scoring chances but Dallas just buried theirs.

Burrows and Higgins failing on the back-check, Bonino with a soft grip on his stick, Tanev running into Miller, Bieksa not taking a stick in front. Just straight up dummy plays that shouldn't happen. Miller definitely wasn't on his game, so that didn't help.

When you're a team with little offensive depth you can't be that bad defensively, obviously.
