So after like a dozen years of wanting my first pet I'm finally ready to pull the trigger.

It was going to be a dog all along but recently I just learned about Savannah Cats being a thing and I'm hooked.

Just have to decide if I want a first generation which are a lot cooler but will end up costing about $30,000 after everything or 2x 4th gens that will cost about half that combined.

Getting a 1st gen will also mean I'll have to completely change my living arrangements lol.

Well they are actually about $20-22k but then all the other stuff I have to do to accommodate a cat that is half wild will make up the rest of the cost.

If I were to get a regular pet I'd consider adopting for sure but these aren't usually available for adoption, not to mention they typically have major behavioral issues if not raised correctly and by 1 owner.

From everything I've read they become extremely bonded to their owner, especially the primary caretaker (which would be me).

Fully grown adult males are only like 20 pounds anyway, about the size of a small-medium dog.

I'm pretty sure most cats would kill their owners if they were big enough lol. Also are you sure about their size as fully grown? Because I have a regular cat (maine coon) and it's like 15lbs...

It sounds like it's a pretty demanding animal to have as your first pet, sounds like you'd have to move, and that it will take a lot of attention/training, plus the price :o . It's your money so do whatever, I'm not trying to dissuade you, just want to be aware of everything + the cat does look pretty cool.
