So is the idea that you want your STA, ATT, and DEF IVs to all be equal to the Max CP @ Lvl number?

STA ATT DEF IVs range from 0-15 each. You want each to be 15, of course, for a perfect pokemon.

You use level number and CP for the calculation to figure out what IVs you have.

That's about as far as my knowledge goes, I haven't really looked into it much because I don't have anything worth using dust on lol (Magikarps, Dratinis, etc.)


The inaccuracy comes from the inability to calculate the "pokemon level" hidden stat properly. Right now the only way to get an accurate calculation of your IVs is to calculate, power up a bit, calculate again to see if the numbers were the same as before, and then maybe do it once again to make sure.

Gotcha. Seems like it's not terribly accurate though, you're supposed to "fiddle around" until your stuff matches? With 10 STA IV my bulbasaur could have 15 ATT IV and literally any DEF IV cuz it's level 1.

Maybe it's better at higher levels.

Okay I did it with my Snorlax and it seems a little bit easier to tune. He's average The "max CP" is more useful than the IVs, tbh. I have a raticate that looks to be almost the highest he can be.

2nd day of pokemon go and everything went smoother, server is way better and not so many crashes. already managed to get into 2 gyms. but so many drowzees, spearows, pidgeys and weedles.. my 3 top pokemons are all hypnos
