Nah, didn't win back-to-back titles.

In fact, didn't even appear in the Finals consecutively at any point during their run. If they win next year they are a definitive dynasty.

His Majesty Gary Bettman declared it.

Easily a dynasty in the modern era for sure

Quote
A sports dynasty is a team that dominates their sport or league for an extraordinary length of time. The definition of dynasty by academics implies a single leader over the bulk of that period, a great example being John Wooden who led the college basketball powerhouse UCLA Bruins.

The above is a definition that comes up when you Google "sports dynasty" and I guess I can agree with it for the Blackhawks because even when they weren't winning titles they were close to or around the Finals.

However, I prefer the Bill Burr school of thought and I look for consecutive Finals appearances/titles.

But then, 3 over 6 is a lot, considering it's the same corps accomplishing it.

Hmm

You're a leafs fan, you're a sens fan, you're a black hawks fan all in one year? Is there any team you're not a fan of?

What does it matter?
I live in Ottawa, so I happen to want the team of the city I live in to do well. Grew up in Toronto so I was raised up a Leafs fan, and I have liked the Blackhawks for a number of years now as well.

I'm a fan of hockey, I like teams, please dont lose sleep over it.

I just found it weird that you were apart of the "boys" for 3 different teams this year. Surely following and cheering for a team doesn't mean you have to consider yourself apart of the "boys".

I get where he's coming from.

I'm first and foremost a flames fan. Die hard, have been since I was 8.
But I absolutely love Montreal and Ottawa, so I like seeing them do well and I cheer them on just as much as any other fan.

Oh I get it too. It's just being apart of the boys is like next level. It's past the stage of being a follower or even a fan of a team. It's like a marriage bro style.

Thank you for your concern
Everyone who has been around these forums for years now, knows I cheer for the Hawks. How intensely I choose to connect with that team, I did not think people even paid attention to

3 cups in 6 seasons is a dynasty whether you like it or not

This, I'm a fan of the Avalanche but support the blackhawks/sharks/stars because I have very close friends from all of those cities

Hockey ends when your team is out. That's my philosophy. Didn't watch more than 5 minutes of the final series

That's honestly the saddest thing I have heard. Regardless if my team is in the finals I will watch it. Why start the 3 months of no hockey earlier than you have to?

Quote (dirTyMan @ Jun 16 2015 11:19am)
I just don't get enjoyment because I feel no emotion when watching other teams and That emotion you feel when you watch your team win or lose is why sports is so great.

In any round of the playoffs (not counting my hawks) I root for the team losing the series just so more hockey can be played.
This is the only sport I can stand watching when my team isn't playing. Hockey >

It's been 7-8 years since hockey started becoming popular again in Chicago.
The whole "welcome to the bangwagon" insult is honestly just getting old.
Take your concerns up with Bill Wirtz.... Oh wait you can't...

I don't. There are plenty of people on this forum who follow more than one team.
I would mention the other team I follow, but I would get a lot of hate from people in Chicago.
