yeah, apparently the paramedics were overwhelmed with calls. Not enough first responders in BC. longest on hold call was 18 hours.

There's also a lot of dumb ppl that call 911 that ISNT an emergency. I dont think a lot of people know about non-emergency lines either, so if ur house got broken into but isn't in process of it, they need to call the non-emerg but their first instinct is to call 911.

i heard first responders only get paid $2/hr if they get no calls, so if they have a 8hour shift and it's dead, they'd make 16 bux for the day lmao. Otherwise, they'd average only abt 30 bux.

then there's the entitled servers/waitresses expecting tips on top of their min wage when they dont even do their job , i would have no problems if they expect tips like murica if they're fine with below min wage pay but then they'd be silent real quick.

Yep my sister was a paramedic in the crowsnest pass, $1/hour if she wasn’t on a call… there would be weeks it would cost her more in gas to get to work than she would get paid

They're unionized but it doesn't always work out for employees. Bc has largely been ruled by anti-union governments that play hard ball then legislate stalemates away.
