what was on the ceiling before pant wise? could be a chemical reaction to the kind of compound you got and the paint on the ceiling
pretty much do what they said in that thread you posted you just get some good paint primer cover it and if that doesnt help your prob sol

its almost like rust or something though in his pics... maybe old nails or something but that many and that sporadic id say its unlikely
that would make me so fuckin curious
