I have a feeling burrows will be putting lots of pucks on the net this year. Old core is really gonna feel the pressure of the team having fuck all for offense lol

I think Bonino and Vrbata going to make huge contributions.

Bonino will surprise people mostly because they give credit to his playing with Getz.

Vrbata will have another 30 goal season B)

Some notes from last night's game:
- Bonino has very good puck skills and is smart but god he skates like a turtle

- Shinkaruk continues to show offensive flare

- Sbisa was up and down, need to see more of him (can't see him being a better option than Stanton on 3LD though)

- IMO Horvat has NHL-calibre strength and defensive game but close to no offense

- Kassian was demoted to the 4th line after playing like shit but then started to play better

- Jensen took Kassian's spot on the 2nd line and looked good

- I don't know if Lack has exactly looked calm in his two appearances but he's kept everything out of the net

Lineup for tonight:
Sedin - Sedin - Vrbata
Gaunce - Vey - Hansen
Sestito - Horvat - Jensen
Jeffrey - Richardson - Dorsett

Hamhuis - Bieksa
Sbisa - Tanev
Stanton - Weber

Miller
Eriksson

I wish they'd replace Sestito with Shinkaruk to make a fun kid line.

I'm excited for this season

I hope we see a kid line at least for the first 9 games

Shinkaruk horvat Jensen

The stache doesn't care for fighting so I wonder what sestitos roll will be

Hard to really take much out of last night's game 'cause Calgary iced an AHL lineup and we had a pretty decent one. The important thing to note was the powerplay: Sedins controlling the puck in the right corner with three RH shots in Vey, Vrbata and Tanev staggered on the left side for shooting options.

Tanev on the power-play is really like a dream come true for me  love the decision, shocked it happened so early (I guess we can thank Edler's injury). We lack a true OFD so Tanev is the best option out of the guys we have. Nobody has a good slap-shot and Tanev's wrister is probably the most accurate. Plus he's very calm and composed and a great decision-maker and passer, the qualities you look for in a PPQB.

:hail:

Vey has been a nice surprise. It seems LA developed him properly and he's truly ready to jump into the NHL.

Also, Horvat has looked good to me, personally. At this point in his development, he doesn't bring much offensively at the NHL level but he has the strength, smarts, maturity and awareness to be a reliable NHL center already. I would really like to see him get a 9-game tryout @ 3C and see how he does.

More cuts:
Assigned to the Utica Comets:
- Henrik Tommernes
- Kent Huskins
- Ronalds Kenins
- Alex Friesen
- Joe Cannata
- John Negrin
- Kane Lafranchise
- Brendan Gaunce

Assigned to the Comets' training camp:
- JT Wyman
- Carter Bancks

Assigned to respective junior team:
- Jake Virtanen

Gaunce had a better preseason showing last year but it's not a big deal, he wasn't going to make it this year anyway. I assume Corrado will be sent down after the next round of cuts.

Markstrom cleared waivers. Will be interesting situation down in Utica with Eriksson and Markstrom both there.
