Finally pulled the trigger on a dog.

One year old lab/collie mix, female. She's super laid back and playful, is housebroken, and supposedly can spend 8+ hours alone uncrated. No separation anxiety and knows basic commands. First thing she did when I got into the visitation room was roll over for a belly rub.

She's due for a rabies shot so I can't bring her home until tuesday. That gives me time to get a leash, better collar, car seat protector, and nicer food.

Got her from a high kill county shelter but I dont believe for a second she would have been there more than a week. They literally got her yesterday.

She looks good. Do you know his background/history ?

First owner got her as a puppy but had to move and couldn't take her. Went through a local shelter to find another family to take her, but that family's other dog was super aggressive towards her. They picked the dog they'd had longer and took her to the shelter yesterday. So as far as I know she has never been in an abusive home and very very sparingly in a shelter. Supposedly she's good with dogs, cats, everyone.

If you want to spoil her with a beautiful leash and collar, I highly recommend http://www.cerberusdesigns.ca/ The guy who runs it makes everything by hand, and will custom make anything you want. I got him to make Penny one a couple years ago. He managed to get pennies from her birth year riveted on it, and had her name stamped both in the collar and leash. All said and done they came to about $100 too. Not bad at all

(Pennies are pretty dirty right now)

The collar. The part with the pennies on it is actually detachable so you can get different designs for the same collar

The leash. Her name is also stamped on the backside of it
