wind power has all but been abandoned, at least here in california.

im not arguing that oil is better, believe me. but what i am saying is stored electric/solar is not all everyone thinks it is

I hate agreeing with sub, but even once the tech is there it will take along time to integrate and standardize it.

at this point i think Canada needs to find ways to make our oil as profitable as possible and invest in research on getting that tech here sooner.

technology for what? theres multiple better resources then oil oil is just the most profitable which allwoed the oil companies to purchase those other resources
and with all the big oil companies owning the rights to the good energy sources they simply wont allow them to be until oil is dry


thats honestly the main issue right now its not the lack of technology or better ways its the rich people making sure they continue to get richer

wind power is decent but can cause changes in climate (such as weather patterns, front movement etc)



to be fair to your argument, when it comes to powerplants.. no matter what causes the turbines to move (be it solar/wind/hydro/nuclear/natural gas/oil), the energy is still stored the same way.

Also batteries for solar power and becoming much better quickly as more people are tending to it.

Tidal? there are lots of options out there, and i am not educated on the topic at all to say which avenue should be pursued . my point is only that we shouldnt throw up our hands and decide to stick with oil.

The spikes in ontario hydro costs are related to subsidies being cut. Not actual cost of power. at least as far as i am aware
