he's going to want to go to a contender, they won't have space for 6.5 mill cap hit

If you sign him for $3M-$4M you're actually paying him more. For small market teams like the Isles who don't need to worry about the cap, he'll be a perfect contract to take

*shrug* obviously no one made an offer. Doesn't matter why, he wasn't attractive.

Briere has been terrible the last two years. That is why nobody offered anything.

There's that patented flyer loyalty. He was incredible for you most of his time in Philly, and 50 point years aren't exactly dominant but nothing to scoff at. Not to mention his playoff presence.
Flyer fans should be wishing him well on his way. It's their own fault he's got this cap hit anyway. Feels like I've said that more than a few times for more than a few flyers players in this thread..

RJ umberger also had an eletric postseason. So did JVR. If you watched briere every game the past two years there is no way you would want him on your team. He is terrible defensively. Gets pushed off the puck constantly. Still tries the same wrap around move. His snipes have gone way down. He's super injury prone.

He provides leadership and had two stellar playoffs with the flyers and 2 with buffalo. But he's 35 or whatever now and not the same player. He couldn't produce with giroux playing with him. He couldn't produce with anyone he last couple of years except ville fucking leino. He's a great guy. Loved having him. But it's not even about the money. He's not the same player.

this pretty much
briere is one of my fav players not to often you see a small player like that do as good as he did and what he could do in the playoffs... jeez
and honestly i feel his contract was unfair from the start yes it was high and shit but when they came to agreement there was no salary cap and thats what screwing us now... that salary cap
idk if he needs a change or what but last season he fuckin sucked!

Briere has 109 points in 108 playoff games, Any playoff team will be looking at this.

Would love for him to join the Penguins for 500k since hes getting 3.75m anyways hahha
