I think it's time for the Flames to move Brodie. He hasnt looked comfortable to me all this year and he's a piece we can move and replace with depth talent (Stone, Valimaki, Anderssen). Unfortunately Gully seems dedicated to putting each d-man on their strong side is the way to play them and Brodie has never looked that comfortable as a left d-man. Hopefully we can get back a legitimate top-9 right winger, and then we can try swapping guys around a bit. Frolik coming off the 3 M line might not be a bad thing, or trying different combinations. Right now we are pretty much handcuffed because our top 2 RWs are Ferly/Frolik then a big fall off.
E: I say this and I'm a huge fan of Brodies. I'm trying to put aside my feelings and look at it objectively.
I tend to agree..... and I think it's very possible. We have a glut of really good D prospects right now - more than we could ever really play - and someone's gotta move. Brodie's the most logical candidate, and I think he'll get a decent return.
