With signing streit flyers have no leverage. They have to dump a salary and briere is the logical choice.

If there are 15 teams interested, there should be one willing to give up a late draft pick for him instead of crossing their fingers come summer.

yeah i guess, just saying that there are teams who probably would be interested

im not sure about briere though, if he just wants to play in a low preasure enviroment with top line minutes and no income tax (iirc, or very low) and beaches, he could go to florida :<

Not really. Those 15 teams are interested in getting briere between 3-4m max. I don't find it weird at all that there are 0 who want him at 6.5. Simple supply and demand.

This.

Just 'cause there are teams interested and his actual salary is low doesn't mean a trade is easy to do.

The teams that would be interested in a low salary / high cap-hit are probably ones he doesn't want to waive to.

There are likely 5 or less teams on his list and most/all of those probably can't handle a 6.5M cap-hit.

If you sign him for $3M-$4M you're actually paying him more. For small market teams like the Isles who don't need to worry about the cap, he'll be a perfect contract to take
