Those unlimited funds come from the backs of the taxpayers.

At $111 an hour you better have one hell of a strong back lol because they are going to try to break you.

Try not to look at how much you paid in tax, just cash the cheque lol.

Like I posted a few weeks back. It's a dream job. And I had to go through a ton of tests to get in.
They will try to break me with ot. Most guys work 500-600 ot a year. They are understaffed, hence all the ot. They ask for more people but they don't wanna hire permanently. But who knows. If I don't refuse all the ot hopefully I get on full-time

I would hate a job like that

how is your wife okay with that and why aren't you trying to spend time with your kids?

you're going to regret it in years

Yaaa. It's gonna be tough she knows that. But to be able to possible move and get a forever home and pay it off super soon is a good distraction currently. The hours worked are tough on me especially with my kids being as Yong as they are. But at least I'm not out of town.

Currently the thought of new flooring and appliances are good for her. Lol

I would take on all the hours I could get if I was getting paid that well.

Short term pain for long term gain. The potential to put aside money for investing, pay down loans/mortgages etc is going to pay off. Not an expert on taxes but you can income split with your spouse with an RRSP to save some money come tax time.

It's tough when you have kids but when they are older they will appreciate the sacrifices you made and you can spend more time with the family down the road.

Do such a damn good job they have no choice to hire you long term, full time.

A buddy of mine committed suicide a few weeks ago. Pretty tragic.

He did it on April 1st, April fool’s day. The guy had a sense of humour for sure, but why then? Can’t decide if it’s just a strange coincidence, or a planned date. So strange.

That is terrible. My condolences.

It's tough, especially now.

So much is expected of us. The day to day pressure is immense.

Can't help but feel this way of living is not sustainable. There is just too much strain.
