Just going by the rumors saying that Benning is absolutely in love with Reinhart, and they've made it obvious that they will lean towards BC boys.

I don't see the point in drafting Ekblad when they're trying to win now/win over the next few years and we already have a decent D-core.

ekblad is as close to the NHL as reinhart is imo

ekblad would slot in the top4 on canucks quite easily

Why not just go for the 2nd overall then?

Either way you'll get one of them.

Yeah I know he's probably the most NHL ready, but if you're trying to win, why not fill your needs instead?

Also, I don't know if he'd be a top-4 right away. He's coming out of junior and hasn't played 1 pro game yet lol, it's not that easy.

have you watched ekblad play?

i firmly believe he's very much ready, however, canucks got pretty decent top4 if all are healthy

ekblad is as much of a need as reinhart, but the #1 is for ekblad basically

I have seen Ekblad play, vs. Teenagers

and why wouldnt his playstyle translate well into the NHL?

atleast well enough to play on a bottom feeder

Canucks need to rebuild. Still cannot believe they're trying to win now.

Sell the team for futures , because the sedins are done. edler is trash. etc.

Thing is that he was thought to be a top 5 pick, then all those teams passed on him in the first round. Must be a reason for that. Flames picked Poirier over Shinkaruk and it looks like a definite right choice at this point, 87 points in 63 games last year for Poirier, and who knows about Shinkaruk seeing as he was injured all year.

They're not trying to win now if they're trading Kesler and trying to get younger, better players.
