Instill a bit of fear and anxiety, gives them the power balance and gives them what they want to hear faster and with no problems.

Yeah, generally if you see RCMP in Ontario/Quebec, to my knowledge they work at Federal headquarters and are a specialized cop, not just a plain officer, but rather serve a more specific purpose

Power moves exist in every occupation. Ain't getting far in life if you aren't willing to use em.

The acknowledgement of power relations will not get me accepted?
Why are you assuming that is my mindset, my belief and my way of going about situations?

That is like me acknowledging racism in instilled in the institution that is policing, and by me acknowledging it you are claiming I am a racist lol.
It's actually racist to discredit racism. I acknowledge it to improve upon it, not to pretend it doesn't exist so the problem persists.

I counter your argument that by being ignorant to the situation, this inhibits your ability to 'get in' a whole lot more.
But hey, to each their own :santa:

identifying yourself as a PO is different from instilling fear and anxiety in people.

this is exactly my point. theres no way of knowing how the general public will respond to your badge. it could slow down the process of getting helpful information because the person in question hates police for example.

i honestly don't even believe caedus' story. after thinking about it for a bit, theres no way i can see undercover law enforcement officers having to ask a random guy sitting in a car for directions. people who have trained their whole lives to be prepared and to be informed, not having a simple idea of where theyre going? something that anyone with a smart phone can find out using a map app.

You fail to understand, the very act of identifying yourself as a PO instills fear and anxiety.
I'm not saying its proper or right, I'm not saying they are doing it on purpose. Just simply explaining it through a certain lens (power relations)

Power moves are MEANT to instill fear and anxiety, but most importantly submissiveness which encompasses both of those things and more.

maybe to you it does. i think if your not doing anything wrong then you shouldn't either. i guess everyone is different because i don't get anxious or fear police.

even if identifying yourself as a PO did instill fear and anxiety, why in the world would you do it unnecessarily when your main goal is to protect the peoples well being in their service?
