It's the government shutting AZ down. Everyday there's a flip flop on this particular vaccine. People are losing trust in it. Administering nurses are advising against it as far back as 2 weeks ago.
Fear of the unknown I suppose is what's driving the paranoia. That being said I'd gladly take a pfizer/moderna one. So thinking this is a antivaxer issue has nothing to do about it either.
I’m not discounting the skepticism of the AZ vaccine. I’m all for thorough and rigorous testing for side effects and the dangers of vaccines. I have a science degree and I am an advocate of the scientific method in all of its applications. This is also a reason why I trust the results when the scientific community backs something.
What I am confused about are the people not wanting the vaccine because there is a chance you can get really sick, but not scared of Covid and say Covid is nothing to worry about when it statistically has a greater chance of getting really sick.
Also, with all due respect to nurses and the ones administering the vaccine, it is, in my opinion, extremely unethical to give medical advice on something like this in the role they have. They should not be advising individuals, especially in that setting.
