I live in Ottawa with a a ton of Quebecers, and I know and speak french, not great, but decent. And my french friends always tell me just to speak french and they wont care how bad it is. Always say I'll never get better unless I practice with them. I'm always so shy and nervous with my french though

You don't apply to be anywhere, they put you where they need you (all across Canada could be my chosen jurisdiction, except Ontario/Quebec cause they have provincial police)
French isnt mandatory in any province except New Brunswick I believe. With that being said, French is definitely an asset and once I wish I worked on harder to obtain.

RCMP in Quebec and Ontario are pretty hardcore. Essentially Canada's equivalent of the FBI. I remember a couple years ago I was waiting to pick up my cousin from university when this lady (and her partner a few meters behind her) in aviators and a $2000 women's suit walked up to my window, flashed her RCMP badge and asked where one of the buildings was.

That is not all RCMP, not at all.

And they aren't equivalent to the FBI . That's CSIS

Wrong. They were absolutely RCMP, the woman introduced herself as such and her badge was clearly RCMP. CSIS is Canadian Intelligence. The FBI is a federal institution that has jurisdiction over federal crimes and federal matters. In Canada, the RCMP fills that role. CSIS is not a policing organization. They're HUMINT, like the CIA or MI6.

We've had this conversation before. You admitted you were wrong last time, let's not go through this again.
