I actually don't think emelin is way overpaid, 3.5 woulda been a very gg deal. 4.1 is ok. cap's going up hes young and good all around no.3-4 D

3.5-3.75 would have been a perfect number. 4.1 may be a little high atm but your also paying for what emelin could still become

its just his defensive game for me. hes not elite yet. hes still a liability at times. i guess it could be good or bad, we have to wait and see. i love the kid though, so im happy hes here for a while.

4 years/3.5 would have been perfect. Like others said cap will go up fast in the next years so 4.1 is fine. Maybe the deal could have waited a bit until he played more games this year but I am happy he is staying

Emelin is a God. No amount of money is overpayment. If we let him walk I would have changed teams. 3.5 would have been ideal, but how many UFAs with untapped potential take long term deals at their current value? Eventually after Therrien is fired our new coach will give him PP time and everyone will be in shock and awe wondering when Emelin developed such great puck skills. Then I will laugh and say he has always had them you smelly peasants.
