Ahh. I see what you mean. You need an egg etc. Good question to be honest. I'd assume so yes, you'd have to find a donated egg. But wouldn't want to use a surrogate egg. Females catch feelings when they see the baby, especially if it's theirs. Surrogate has no match to donated sperm/egg so I'd imagine it's easier to say goodbye after carrying for 9months.

Ethically it's wrong though, assuming you believe that having a stable male and female figure is important to the development of a child.

Not that you wouldn't be a good dad, or that it's impossible to raise a good human on your own, but it's not ideal and I don't know if you should be creating a kid under unideal circumstances.

We already have way too much of that in the world. If anything we should be more strict as a society when it comes to who should and shouldn't be allowed to have kids. Would eliminate a lot of the dumb people in the world and maybe slow down the population problem for a bit.

I have thought about this before too actually.

Have always wanted kids but the contractual obligation and fear of being trapped in a loveless marriage for decades or divorcing and losing your assets + having to fight for custody scare the hell out of me.

Just seems like a very raw deal if things go south with your partner. Sadly, statistics say they that is the most likely scenario.


Deliberately planning to have a child by yourself brings ethical dilemmas into the picture as well.
