The Streit contract is comparable to Gonchar and Visnovsky. Would have liked it to be lower, but meh. Top d-men are making that much cash now. Look at Wisniewski, Edler, Wideman, and even Carle.


The problem with Giroux is how much Perry and Getzlaf just made. That is going to drive G's number up even more. Giroux's extension talk has begun too by the way

Viz and Gonch aren't signed for 4 years. And they come with the added benefit of playoff experience. Streit has a solid 18 games in his career.

i figure about 6-7m area he seems like the kinda guy that would take a bit of a discount
we seem to get forwards for a good price its the D men we pay out the ass for

Yeah, but they are older too.

Gonchar is like 39, not really comparable.

Visnovsky is 1 year older than Streit but at an old age, 1 year is quite a bit of difference.

If Streit said "4 years or I'm walking" there's not much they can do. Even if he blows for the last year, it's probably worth it.
