Working from home today

You guys don't know cold.
Was -37 Celsius with a 5k wind bringing it to -47 Celsius last shift.
And I work outside...needless to say they called it a no work day that day.

did you not say you guys dont stop work due to weather conditions???

I don't recall that. Usually we don't.
But at those temperature the canadian labor law says frostbite starts in 5 minutes. And you can warm up for 30 mins every 5 minutes
Literally no work would get done. So they called it a no work day lol.
-32ish and -40-42 windchill we've worked through lots.

Yeah that's just dumb. Worst I think I've ever had was -26 Celsius/-15 Fahrenheit in Michigan without wind chill. That was when I was a kid. We had to use my dad's sports car because my mom's expedition was kept outside and wouldn't start. My mom almost killed us cuz she hadn't driven manual in like 12 years.
