I thought the states have something similar or that's just the 401k but hey at least you guys have one time 20 years mortgages and the mortgage is tax deductible unlike here

only in limited situations can expats have a 401K or an IRA and as a pleb I'm excluded from "foreign" taxation anyways.

I do find it absurd brokerage apps are restricting retail traders from buying GME and other pumped stocks. up to regulators to investigate determine whether there's manipulation or not, not private firms.

“Free market”

What’s happening is pure chaos. Definitely watching this one from the sidelines. There’s definitely some kind of market manipulation going on and regulators better investigate.

Good on any retail trader who comes out on top, imagine going from having 50k to your name to retirement within a week. I don't think it's going to last much longer, pretty sure the WSB guys are going to start selling

the big $$ companies are probably paying for them to do that tbh
and robinhood which removed the abilty to buy them already has a class action lawsuit being filed

Yeah well they should still be investigated. They only caved once Washington started taking notice. It also caused a pretty big dip.

I’m just curious the see how this will unfold lol. There seems to be a lot of retail traders that are completely willing to risk their investment for an opportunity to fuck over some billionaires

It has turned into a huge conflict of interest.

Melvin capital has received billions from Point72. Gabe Plotkin, the founder of Melvin was a big wig at Point72 before founding Melvin.

Furthermore Citadel has invested billions into Melvin as well. Citadel and Robinhood work hand in hand. Citadel takes data from Robinhood and Robinhood makes a lot of money off Citadel.

I don't know the details but in the very least there is collusion going on against retail investors in an attempt to protect hedge funds and the billionaires behind them.

It appears they want to play by their own set of rules.

I would like to see them pay for their greed.

They got caught overextending, got exposed and want to change the rules to protect themselves.

Investing used to be a really closed environment. I don't think the old guard likes the fact that so many average joes can enter into the fray and band together.

That was never a possibility before.
