Wouldn't have done anything like it either, it's basically a decentralized Ponzi scheme. I lose braincells when people say it's retail investors pwning institutional, sure some of them lost big on shorts but obviously others were long on GME and made out like bandits - no matter how bearish the market may be towards a ticker, there are always big rollers looking for value stocks already. One tech billionaire alone (Ryan Cohen) owns 13% of Gamestop stocks and he's basically earned billions without lifting a finger. He sits on the company's board so I doubt he'll sell no matter how much the stock is pumped tho.

Retails/individuals who go in early will cash out en masse eventually, triggering a panic that will bring GME prices back to normal. And pretty much everyone losing will be the "little guys" who tried to make a quick buck but either got in too late or held too long.

Its crash will be foreshadowing on a smaller scale to how Tesla will inevitably crash

I don't think the situation is analogous as this current pump follows a very specific strategy. GME, AMC & co. are all being targeted in a bid to "short squeeze" bearish institutional investors - hence the selection of moribund company stocks.

I agree with your other post.

I don't get involved in these get rich quick schemes.

A bunch of retail investors with limited experience are going to lose their shirts because they have no clue what they are doing.

Blindly following a runup is not going to end well for the majority who will be left holding the bag.

What bothers me about all of this madness is it hurt my generic buy and hold strategy. Long term it will just be a blip but these runups caused a disruption in the overall market.

I got a good chuckle out of all the posts from members of facebook groups bragging about how much money they have made..... Yet they have not even sold the stock yet... Shows how clueless they are.

Absolutely reckless to be investing when you have no clue wtf is going on.
