Innovation and ideas is what you bring to the table, Theoretically you need to also have a long term plan for where you are taking the app.

Like for example many games start completely free and move to micro transactions or w/e

candy crush expanded into new games etc.


The reality is you need to find someone you trust who can be your partner on the coding side, You are valuable to them because you are not just bringing this innovation, but also an innovative mind which will continue to expand the app or create and expanding line of apps.

I just feel like evebtually, they'll get the just of what we are trying to accomplish and be able to run with it themselves and them I'm out.

By that stage you will be incorporated and the shared company will hold the copy right, you interests will be legally protected


You do need someone you trust for the initial stages as i mentioned though. (plus you never really want to work with people you dont trust anyhow)

E/ Obviously certain things are harder/easier to protect than others but as for general advice, there are ways to protect your ideas,

The trickiest part is finding some one you trust enough to get it to a stage where it becomes legally protectable.
