There are no loyalty programs anymore. New customers get all the perks. Cellphone providers are the biggest culprits of this.

I switch btwn Telus or Shaw if they choose not to match, but 99% of the time they usually offer much better shit. I've been with Telus for a while too, cuz Shaw done fucked up and chose not to match few years ago, while Telus keeps matching it

I'm trying the online chat now, also bringing up that apparently quite a few people got better deals as reported on RedFlagDeals. If they keep hardballing I might as well switch to Telus and pay the extra $120/year to make my uploads go zoom. Then in two years switch again...

Month to month is best way to go and you call in when the new customer promo is expiring before the month

Best I could get from Shaw chat was 600/20 for $80 lol I brought up "flexibility" vis-a-vis with Telus and they didn't change their M2M price.

Maybe they'll be nicer when I call to cancel?

i wouldnt even call to cancel since u already did that, just port out and they'll call you if they really wanna keep you. If they call you after you already ported, you let them know it's hella inconvenient for you since you already changed over, and you've called before doing that and you were basically told nothing they can do about it.
So unless they make an offer worth the hassle to switch back, say no thx.

I was paying like 90 bucks for 300 mb like 3 years ago with Telus

Then my coworker was bitching about how his internet was too expensive with Shaw. So he called in and got 300 mb for $60 and I was like wtf!

So I called Telus right after him and said my coworker is paying $60!

Telus was like oh ok we'll match. Since then they've also given me unlimited data and free basic pik tv.
