Get a Red Doberman. Get it's tail docked, but leave it's ears natural. Complete chick magnet

Read my posts lol. The apartment complex has a walker and I only work 7 days a pay period. Plenty of dogs can go out for long runs and pass out for 10 hours, my friends dog does. But I'm not gonna traumatize the thing, I've got it covered. Again it's about finding the right dog.

This guys gonna be spoiled rotten, no worries.

Missed the dog walker part because it sounded like you were worried about leaving it for 10 hours completely unattended. Yes dogs can pass out for hours easy but its also sleeping when you are so thats 18 hours ish of lying about per day. Its too much.

But ya a 15-30 min walk in the middle of that stretch is all thats really needed.

:( dont dock the tail! My old aussie was docked the new one isnt and it glorious.

Yes sometimes he knocks things over but watching how fast his tail wags when he is excited is too cute to let go. Although watching them try to wag the tail stump is always funny/ cute too

For dobes it's more of a safety issue for them. They have really brittle tails, and are really susceptible to bones breaking in them

Haha i have a 3 day weekend then work from home so I am gonna make some rounds. If I find one that clicks I'll take a pic and post it :) I'm not gonna decide for sure before meeting it twice though - if I think one is great I'll come back the next day to meet it again. Risky in case someone else pulls the trigger but I'm kinda nervous since it'll be my first dog, not counting that I helped raise my friend's.

My building is obscenely dog friendly. It has its own fenced in dog park, although with parva that kinda makes me nervous. We have indoor walking routes though and a 2 mile trail around the three buildings. And I shit you not we have complimentary dog treats. I'm about as equipped as most homeowners minus being able to just open the door haha. They also contract for better rates with a local walking business for days I'm gonna be late getting home. All part of the 500 dollar amenities fee.

My biggest thing will be getting a dog I can trust at home for 10 hours. Thats the worry with labs and collies but I friggin love them. I'm home x-apple-data-detectors://307/14 days but the other 7... dunno. Crate is always an option.

Getting excited though. I moved the money around yesterday and am sending emails to shelters to set up appointments this morning. There's a Petco across the street and I have commitments from at least 5 people who can watch him when I'm on work trips and the vet is maybe 3 minutes by car at best. My friends mom runs a kennel in Michigan so if he's a problem with my parents cats she's offered to let me keep him there overnight. Literally have everything set up except finding the right dog.

It only sometimes works, and I don't know how to say it cuz technically when you close your eyes it's what you're doing, but I stare at my eyelids. You can still see some shapes and stuff when your eyes are closed so I focus on those and they start to look like real life things. That'll sometimes put me into a dream.

If I were you I wouldn't get a high energy dog if you're gone for 10 hours . That's just cruel to the dog .

thats kinda true when you get home if ur tired n just wanna relax your dog will prob be jumping around and driving you nuts
i know my buddies dog was like that cuz he never walked him n i seriously wanted to stab the dog just so it would leave me the fuck alone at times
and on top of that when it did calm down its "calm" was sitting there staring at you and growling non stop ... high energy dogs need their exercise

Oh trust me i know. Over thanksgiving my parents dogsat for my brothers friend in exchange for a place to stay. They had one that was super energetic with separation anxiety so if anyone even made a move towards the door it would run to the window hopping up and down barking for like 20 seconds straight.
