Well it's official now...

Massive trade between Calgary and Vancouver.

I don't mind Kuzmenko or the 1st round pick.

What bothers me is the two defensive prospects they gave up.

Hunter Brzustewicz is leading his junior team in scoring as an 18 year old d-man.....

Jurmo isn't much of a prospect. He's 22 and hasn't really developed much from when he was drafted. His value is at most the pick he was drafted with: a late 3rd.

Bruzuzitewiziez is definitely the wildcard, but he's not a slam-dunk prospect either despite his numbers this year. His skating, size and overall game has been questioned.

I think it's a good trade for both sides, assuming Lindholm improves his play in a better environment. He really is exactly what our top-6 needed in so many ways.

Really good trade overall. Kuzmenko can definitely find his game again, as long as he's not expected to actually haul ass the other way. Burz is a really good prospect too, and there's a shot at another good one with the late 1st. All of that for an expiring contract.

The Canucks, though, find exactly who they want. Someone who can play a great 200 ft game and be strong in the circle is really going to help the top 6 focus on scoring. Even if Lindholm himself isn't scoring that much, it's not like we need him to do it. What we need is for guys like Boeser to bag his goals then fuck off from the ice lol, while Petey and Miller can continue being beasts without being asked to cover too much.

Still sounds like an overpayment but sadly Kuz was a cap dump, 5.5M riding the bench with an NTC would really fuck us next season.

Seems steep price all things considering. Especially the season lindholm is having

i think it's a great trade for both sides, for the flames Lindholm is a UFA and seemed like he had 1 foot out the door anyway. They got quantity and kuzmenko is a great player, but he just didn't fit with the current Canucks system. Positive attitude and full of energy. Maybe he can work something up with huberdeau. 1st pick will be a late one, and hunter B sucks to lose but with Hughes i'm not too concerned. Jurmo and 4th pick are throw ins lol.

Canucks didn't give up any players that are most likely NHL ready in a couple of years (Dpetey, Walliander, Lekkermaki, Raty etc.) got a player that can PK and faceoffs. Also he got a quick release to his shot, and no one in calgary could feed him the puck like gaudreau/tkachuk did. Hopefully Hughes and Petey will change that.
12 players upfront are solid af now, but i wish they could add tanev or another legit D man on the back end.
