The intent was to do damage.

The only chance was to use the reach of the stick to stop the wraparound. Even then it would be highly unlikely.

When he went for the hit he knew there was no chance it would prevent the empty netter. That was frustration boiling over and he saw a chance to take a huge run and went for it full tilt.


/e Really think it was a dumb move. Not just in terms of the hit being reckless without purpose. This is going to motivate Montreal to play better.

Scheifele is a dumb fuck. he lined up the hit well before Evans had the puck directed to the net. If he intended to stop the goal he could've taken a few extra strides and reached for a stick check.

I haven't seen a close-up yet so I don't know if it was an elbow but if it wasn't, that looks clean to me.

He came from a distance but glided at the end.

Kid needs to have his head up or take hitting out completely. It's as simple as that. I have no sympathy for players who play like it is someone else's responsibility to keep them safe.
