They have to sign essentially a complete team. They have to start somewhere. And if Campbell really wants out, this may be their option. They'll probably have to retain salary and take Rosehill too, but I can see it happening.

Hell, if it's possible (LTIR and such) I can see them taking on the rest of Prongers contract. Salary wise he makes less than 600k for the final two years, and he could help them reach the cap floor since the cap will be going up yet again

aand why wouldn't we overpay for two decent wingers this off-season instead, and have players actually contributing?

you do realize florida has never come anywhere near the cap...so who cares

they aren't paying for his talent, they are paying for his leadership...his talent is a bonus cuz florida is so fucking god awful and never seems to get any better

no they're not a good team cuz they are garbage at developing prospects

look at weiss, horton, bouwmeester...florida had a bright future and fucked it all up

theyll do the same thing with their new young kids unless they get some actual leadership instead of firing a coach every year and thinking their 1st line full of 3rd line players is going to get them anywhere

Have you watched Vinny play recently? We're not talking about a washed up player here. They guy can still get 50-60 points no problem if he gets the ice time. He didn't work with Berube's system and was constantly on the 4th line, only getting 10 minutes a game. Even with that he still put up decent numbers. I would still want him on Philly if there was room, but the fit just isn't right.
