[Canucks] GM Patrik Allvin announced today that the Canucks have acquired D Filip Hronek and Detroit's 2023 4th rd pick in exchange for the conditional 1st rd draft pick acquired in the Bo Horvat trade with the New York Islanders and Vancouver’s 2nd rd pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.

On a positive side... Hughes finally got a RHD on pace for 50+ pts to play with, currently on 4.4m contract.

On a negative side, alvin traded a first away. This team is allergic to picks I guess. Potentially could've been Reinbacher.. Who knows. At least alvin is consistent to his plan now? Retooling, picking up younger players with potential rather than waiting to develop them from draft. Oh 2nd pick too, welp fuck this LOl

This fucking sucks lol, buying high on Hronek who has had a very good year but it's his first year of being a very good player, has always had mixed reviews prior.

Why are you taking calls from Yzerman, what good does that do anyone?

Larkin wanted 8x9, yzerman offered 8x8 then he went on a tear in the all-star game and immediately after, i assume yzerman agreed to meet close to the middle after that.

I legit misread, Canucks got 2nd back. Didn't know they paid 1st and 2nd for him. Jesus.

Like Hronek is a good RHD, but I would've much preferred seider to play with Hughes. I don't even know if Hughes and Hronek will play together. They're both ofd. Hronek won't be getting much pts cuz he definitely won't bump Hughes off the pp1. It's like oel being inefficient cuz he's not playing pp1 anymore, and just playing 10 to 20seconds of pp2.

Oh well now I gotta full on cheer on nyi somehow make it deep into playoff run, so canucks can give next year's 1st Rd pick instead of this year's. Then it won't look as bad, cuz I don't see nyi being a bottom 5 team next season anyway.

Step 1 from being a decent nhl gm is to block Yzermans number.

I don’t think petter and Hughes would be onboard for a rebuild

Guys like hronek are who you have to target if you’re retooling
Young but established players with contract control

Deal doesn't make any sense for the Canucks. Love it.

Major overpayment for a soft top 4 defenseman when we already have one of the best scoring defensemen to lead our PP. Not to mention this team is nowhere close to turning around so it's in no position whatsoever to piss away high picks in a bid to skip a rebuild.

This management baited us with small decent trades then decided to set the whole house on fire. Jimbo never left the org.
