i dont like the return for the nucks not big on both players returned
get like a 3rd liner a potential bust prospect and a 1st

i almost feel like they should have taken out the "nhl player" they wanted and went for a higher tier prospect +pick
beauvillier isnt super bad but if he lowered the prospect return when you could just sign a guy like that in the offseason through FA doesnt seem worth it to me

could work out in the end though depending who you get with the pick seems like a deeper draft and if raty does pan out thats a pretty solid return

I am thinking he was just included for cap reasons, He is an RFA soon so at least they won't be tied to him for long if it does not work out. I don't think he would lower the return that much, but I could be wrong.

Sometimes a change of scenery brings out the best in a player, but I am not sure how we will fit in with the team as of yet. It's obvious we need defense not forwards so it's disappointing we did not get a d-man back.

I am trying to be optimistic. Looking at mock drafts there is mostly forwards in the top 10/15 so the Canucks could end up with one of the best defenseman in a deep draft if the pick is not deferred.

Still just annoyed at how badly the situation was handled.

Ideally yeah, we trade Miller @ last trade deadline for a package likely better than this one and then we sign Bo in the summer on a cheap deal (6.5M x 8Y probably would have got it done at that point).

Management did botch this entire year going back to last trade deadline but at least they've cost their losses and shifted the focus now.

Hopefully we are able to shed a few more vets in the upcoming weeks.

As much as i love horvat, miller's the better player. I wouldn't pay horvat 8m+ he's looking for cuz he went super saiyan this season]

he's been pretty good this year but for a guy that has been so inconsistent his entire career it's risky

yeah i havnt seen too much of strome to really know they must like what they see though to commit to 5 years
if he turns out to be around a 50 point player that doesn't seem too bad

interesting backstrom comes back plays 10 games then they extend strome thats a bit much for 3c maybe 2c insurance for backstrom?
backstrom getting moved or bought out?strome play wing maybe?

any caps fans around what have the lines been looking like? seems backstrom got more toi last game they played

[Seravalli] Gary Bettman says that the NHL is approaching $6 billion in revenue - “give or take.” Last season was in the neighborhood of $5.4 billion.

Half way in and already surpassed last season.
