Looool I guess that's the best offer they got for him

Although I don't mind this trade, literally got what canucks asked for. Roster player, high prospect, and a 1st. Top 12 protected, but nyi is probably a team that'll squeak into playoffs or barely miss it. Getting 2 1st picks in this draft is good. If not, hopefully nyi bombs Ottawa style and gets a top 5 pick next year.

To think they could have flipped Miller for more and kept Horvat. RIP

As much as i love horvat, miller's the better player. I wouldn't pay horvat 8m+ he's looking for cuz he went super saiyan this season

reddit is funny af.
/canuck sub = crying about the return being shit, and not what they wanted, when most fans said they'd be happy with the ask of it being a player, high prospect +1st.
/hockey = fans saying isles gave so much up lool, and isles fans being upset losing raty just cuz he bounced back

If this pick ends up being 13-16th in this year's draft, it's not terrible value.

Typically you'd expect the pick to be late in the 1st, and this is also a deep draft.

Raty is about what you'd expect for a prospect in a deal like this, B+ ish.

Beauvillier probably has slightly negative value but is a "change of scenery" candidate.

Obviously would have preferred a trade with an extension to get more value, but there isn't any precedence for rentals to get much more than this.

Could have got a lot more if lolnucks did not back themselves into a corner with shit management and ownership for all these years haha.

15th overall pick in a deep draft could turn out to be solid though, but I have a feeling NYI will defer until next year.

Raty could surprise as a late bloomer. Had one promising season in Finland. I am just bitter because of how poorly this was handled.

Horvat should still be a Canucks, and in the very least if this entire thing was not botched the return would have been higher.

/e if it's true he wanted 8 million I would change my tune. I just don't think he was swinging for the fences that much.

He just turned 20 and has half a season's worth of pro games in North America, I wouldn't call it late bloomer status just yet.

He fell in his draft but has been trending pretty well since.

Not bad as the secondary piece in this trade, as that 1st might be the best asset depending on where it lands.

i dont like the return for the nucks not big on both players returned
get like a 3rd liner a potential bust prospect and a 1st

i almost feel like they should have taken out the "nhl player" they wanted and went for a higher tier prospect +pick
beauvillier isnt super bad but if he lowered the prospect return when you could just sign a guy like that in the offseason through FA doesnt seem worth it to me

could work out in the end though depending who you get with the pick seems like a deeper draft and if raty does pan out thats a pretty solid return

raty was hyped to be the #1 OA pick in 2021 draft. Not sure what happened to him, but he didnt play well coming up to the draft, and fell off the rankings while others shot up. Much like Wright was #1 talk for a while then dropped way down for seattle to pick him. Although it was very concerning when all NHL team passed on Raty in the 1st round, but at least after he got drafted, he found his groove back and played well in SMliiga, and then came over to NA to adjust for the NHL. I hope with the sedins help, he meets his full potential.

Raty is only 20yrs old, i dont think he's a late bloomer. Beauvillier would be the late bloomer. He has good offense potential, i would be more confident if Bruce was still coaching this team for his playstyle to suit him more, but i guess we just have to see if he will manage under toooooooooooo kit.

I am trying to be optimistic. Looking at mock drafts there is mostly forwards in the top 10/15 so the Canucks could end up with one of the best defenseman in a deep draft if the pick is not deferred.

Still just annoyed at how badly the situation was handled.
