Stutzle said the first thing he is doing is retiring his parents. Have to like that.

I know the numbers don't speak to that monster contract but I still feel it will be a good deal for Ottawa in then end.

His talent is through the roof, he is only 20 and I would not be surprised if he is a point a game + guy for the majority of his contract years.

yeah. he had a really rough start to last season, once he was moved to C his game really elevated. He was a PPG for the last 30-40 games iirc

The Colorado Avalanche have signed free-agent forward Evan Rodrigues to a one-year contract worth $2 million, the team announced Monday.

I like this signing. He fell off a little bit on the second half of the season but part of me thinks it was because he was playing in a top 6 roll till Geno came back. Once that happened. Production dropped cus he got demoted to their 3rd line and different roles. The teams pretty much set now for opening roster.

Good fit for the Avs stylistically.

Chances are he will outperform that cap-hit given quality of team/teammates.

Gives y'all some options at center, see how things play out and then figure it out at the deadline if need be.

100% he can slide up and down the lineup and gives us an extra option for the the #2 C spot.

A couple Stats on him

Evan Rodrigues, signed 1x$2M by COL, is an effective two-way middle-six forward who showed off very strong puck skills last season, counter-acted by struggles to finish his chances. #GoAvsGo

Since there's a lot of talk about Rodrigues' drop-off in the second half of the season, thought I would look into how his micro-stat ranks changed after January 1.

No doubt struggled more to create offence, but even the "lesser" version of ERod is well worth this deal.

Sens sign Tyler Motte to a 1x1.35m contract

I've seen him play mostly with the nucks, seems like a good 4th liner?

Good 4th liner.

A lot of Canucks fans jizz over him and think he can be a good 3rd liner or even more but I don't see it.

Was never really a big fan.

he basically gave a career to lammiko and highmore. After he left, both were practically replaceable/4th line bodies and got extremely useless.

He's fast, hard working, can pk, creates plays out of nothing and you can bet yo ass he will miss or goalie will save 9/10 breakaway chances from him. Oh and he's injure prone, NYR fans loved him too. Got way more recognized after playing for NYR

Sounds good to me. He’s probably here for the PK.

Ottawa had an effect PK last season because we had tons of speed and hard workers. Well we lost Paul and Brown, and seems like Formenton is part of the HC scandal… so our elite pk forwards are basically gone.
