1 good year = massive long term contract.

New meta. Maybe that is the Buffalo cost because players keep wanting to leave.

Oettinger 3 x 4M

Thought somebody could offer sheet for more. Could have put Dallas in a pickle because they still have to sign Robertson.

Seems like alot of teams try to avoid offer sheeting to make sure it doesn't bite them in the ass in future. May just be me thinking that tho. Someone could of easily offered him the 5+m he deserves

for real the goalie market was weak this offseason and so many teams needing a goalie upgrade idk how an offer sheet didnt go out he seemed like the one legit goalie thats not a question mark
and a lot of the teams needing a goalie are contenders that would be greatly improved with him so the picks would be late and its only a 1st+3rd 4.2-6.2m or something like that if you sign him to term thats a solid "trade"

you can often time avoid that by just having the cap space for the player ;)

Got a fat contract instantly

But he had like 4 KHL seasons of greatness, and after seeing him debut and play in the NHL, it was obvious he the real deal. He further proved it by last season

Thompson was whatever the past 4 nhl season, and finally had 1 great season and got paiiiiiid.

Lmao got trolled by radio today morning. Was breaking news about jt Miller, and ppl expected it was a trade or signing, but it was about his newborn.

I guess having a kid made it easy for him to settle in Vancouver. Earlier in the year, I thought he would be getting around 8.5m avv, but I guess 8 isn't too shabby for 7yrs. Especially if cap does go up to 100m in the next couple yrs. I prefer he was traded for assets but it was clear no one wanted to pay

Alvin and Rutherford always wanted to extend him, but they were too far apart in negotiations. So they said that they would have to trade him cuz they didn't wanna lose him for nothing.

Im guessing Miller decided to settle after having his kid today, and probably met half way. Canucks aimed for 6yrs whereas Miller probably wanted 7 or 8.
I expected avv to be at least 8.5m if not higher. Rumor was he wanted around 60m+ or something.

Apparently it's front loaded, with 20m signing bonus. Last 3 is limited ntc, so it's set up to be tradeable when he's 34.
