yeah, absolutely, i wanted him at #6 if florida dropped down - too small for GMDT though - but im not sure how blitzing fast he'll be if he adds 20 lbs which he MUST add atleast

I really like the Virtanen pick. Not a lot of guys have the combination of speed, skill and skating at his size, specially not at 17. Could easily be a Chris Kreider or better.

Could be a great player, just wanted a pure skill guy.

Well if Kesler and Garrison really only gave the two teams, can't really complain about the return. But I'd rather keep Garrison than just throw him away for a 2nd, it's not like we need the cap room.

Dorsett for a 3rd makes about zero sense. Why pay for a 4th liner when we aren't even close to winning, especially when it's the 3rd rounder for next year's deep draft.

Wish we took Ehlers but Virtanen can be good and was ranked around our pick, so I'm satisfied I guess.

Disappointed with the McCann pick 'cause we already have a handful of two-way center prospects. Based on his description, Scherbak would have made a lot more sense.

Chances are we do something in free-agency (10M in cap space after we sign our RFAs) but all we'll get is an overrated, overpaid player on a long-term deal that we'll regret a year later like 90% of UFAs.

I heard dorsett was tight with Willie, maybe dats y.
But Ye instead of McCann, I think i would gambled with ho sung lol

The funny thing is, we could make the playoffs next year. Three things need to happen, they may be stretches, but:

1) Sedins/Burrows need to bounce back. Sedins don't need to be Hart trophy winners but like 70 points is a must for 1st liners that don't offer anything besides scoring.
2) Need a top-6 free-agent forward, Cammalleri would be nice (long-shot).
3) Need at least one prospect to be a good NHL regular, I'm assuming Jensen.

Sedin - Sedin - Jensen
Cammalleri - Bonino - Kassian
Higgins - Matthias - Burrows
Dorsett - Richardson - Hansen

Hamhuis - Bieksa
Edler - Tanev
Stanton - Sbisa/Corrado/Weber

That's not awful. Gotta get lucky with Cammalleri. There's no way two of prospects could make the jump to top-6 forward, so we definitely need to bring someone in.

I get the feeling one of our bottom-6 guys will be traded 'cause we kind of have a logjam there, especially if guys like Horvat or Gaunce make the team. Could be Hansen or Matthias, if it happens.

add hiller/miller we have a decent bottom spot

I like Kassian over jensen on the first.

They need a net front presence, Jensen isn't that.

He'd be better suited with Matthias or Bonino
