Doesn't make much sense to me either, but my theory is that Halak just doesn't enjoy playing for us or Hitchcock
Total speculation though, so no one should take my word as fact

halak is injured on a regular basis and is inconsistent as is anyway.

elliot shows times of brilliance but cant sustain it when asked to be a #1.

this team is built for now, and if we can improve our goaltending without hurting our current roster, why not?

imagine this team with this defense and the addition of say Ryan Miller. id feel pretty fucking good about it.

plus you may even be able to free up enough salary in a trade where we could add miller and another top 9 forward for this year.

it all makes sense to me.

IMO the cost is going to be similar to last year's deadline: 1st rounder + good prospect for a star rental player.

There's only a few teams that need Miller for the stretch drive that can actually afford to pay for him. I can't imagine the price gets driven too high.

i dont think it will.

with rosters locking for the olympics, the trade deadline will be condensed.

i think it will take a first rounder, and maybe a mid level prospect.

they wont get anything more, and the blues wouldnt make the trade unless they were confident they could re sign miller.

if the price is right (which i think it would be), theyre gonna go hard after him.

i 100% guarantee shwartz and tarasenko wont be moved.

i dont think buffalo will want anything more than pics and prosects anyway.

if the price is too high, we dont deal for miller.

but it wont be that high or they wont get anything at all.

A report from the Edmonton Journal believes that the Blues have some pieces they can part with in order to secure a "true #1" goaltender. Specifically, the Blues could part with Jaroslav Halak, Magnus Paajarvi and a first-round pick in order to go out and secure the services of a starting goaltender such as Ryan Miller.

and i would do that in a heartbeat, especially if we think we can resign miller.

i drool at the thought of him on this team.

I like it too. I think that's the cheapest we could possibly get him for, and if we weren't 100% positive that we could resign him, I don't think we'd make the trade. We'll see though, because that's just purely speculation
