Huberdeau waived his no move to come to Calgary. Those two little fuckers left for American reasons, and despite every blogger’s hot take, is not part of some mass exodus trend from Calgary because of blah blah blah. Treliving is rolling the dice on signing Huberdeau, who knows how the season goes, but the team still looks competitive to me right now anyway.

They could probably make the playoffs, sure. 1st round exit though.

He had a M-NTC clause in final season

Cgy got a huge return and currently is winning, but Tkachuk being 5 years younger and all around better player FLA wins it overall imo.

CGY Defense looks damn good, Win for both teams.

Ye I'm just saying unless Brad has PTSD and offers 13m x 7yrs to huberdeau, his agent will tell him to explore UFA and get Brad to either pay more and match other teams offer to get max pay even if he wants to stay in Calgary. Just don't take the first offer Brad gives. That's the agents job.

Huberdeau isn't gonna be like, Calgary drafted me, I wanna be loyal to them, I love Sutter etc. Instead, I see him going I wanna get paaaaaid cuz Florida didn't wanna pay me

Brad’s definitely got a big extension in mind, guess we’ll see what happens. He’s got the Johnny and Chucky money ready to go.

It seems like Florida used Huberdeau contract perfectly

Last year had a M:NTC and they couldn’t resign him

EANHL trade tbh. Huberdeau only has a year left and might've commanded an absurd price which the Panthers won't pay (esp considering the dogshit Bob contract). Tkachuk is secured through his prime and unless he drops off a cliff could be moved in case it doesn't work out.

On the other hand Huberdeau will almost certainly walk and Weegar will probably get exposed hard in a lesser team. That said, maybe this is better than Tkachuk forcing his way into St Louis.

I wonder why Huber would waive that. I would have wanted to go on another playoff run 1 more time with Florida
