Probably if Huberdeau doesnt sign back.

how?

Barkov is already their #1 center for 8 seasons and now they have Tkachuk for 8 on wing

I can't imagine they would have traded for him if they weren't interested in signing him, unless they actually are planning to flip.

I don't know about Huberdeau being better, he's excellent offensively but doesn't have the type of unicorn all around game Tkachuk does. 5 years older too.

I'd say the prospect is a decent B, 2nd rounder ish value?

Florida traded their next 2 at the deadline lol

I had to read the headline like 3 times. Huberdeau? Awesome. Weegar? Wow win. Prospect and then a 1st on top? Sweet jebus what the fuck

Florida must have at least one more move up their sleeves.

They are like 3M over the cap and their D isn't very good lol

Long term I think so. Short term this is about the best deal Calgary could imagine.

Goes to show how much of an advantage a no-tax states is

How anyone can look at this trade as anything but Florida getting absolutely fleeced is beyond me. Either we sign those guys for years, or trade them at the deadline for a king’s ransom. Win win. Florida gets a great player, but hell I’d argue they don’t even get the best player in the deal! Big win.

considering what debrincat got, it's a huge ass fucking return!

adding a 1st was unnessary, that's what makes it OP.

However, it depends if those 2 guys end up staying in calgary or it's a 1 year rental for each lol

makes sense for both teams, calgary gettin old and gotta go for it now and that's as close as it gets replacing johny and mat.

whereas florida may figure that weegar wasn't gonna stick or demand too much, so they might as well trade him now to aquire matt for the extra 8 year lockup.

so it's like Tkachuk for 1st + prospect and then the two players if they'll stay with calgary or if they decide to go UFA.

gonna fucking laugh if hubes return to florida after

After getting so burned by Johnny, zero chance the trade deadline goes by without deals or a trade this year
