Different players but I would agree with you that typically a 2-way 2C would be a better player than a middle-6 grinder.

I guess Detroit has confidence he has enough offense in him to be a legit 2nd line winger.

On one hand it'll be nice to have a forward that actually tries hard and plays defense

On the other hand, I'm already losing my hair and watching him attempt to play offense will probably help me shed the rest

It's a steal

San Jose Sharks trade D Brent Burns and F Lane Pederson to the Carolina Hurricanes for G Eetu Makiniemi and a conditional 2023 3rd-round pick. Sharks are retaining 33 percent of Burns’ contract.

I know Burns isn't at his peak but a 3rd rounder and a goalie prospect lol?

Burns will be around 3 x 5.35M for Carolina.
