60 pts player, where?
He did it once (52pts) and colorado had hell of a season and he knew he was UFA.

in hell of a season, he was on pace for 69pts.
However, pts is just a bonus because he's specialty is that other teams don't score as much when he's on the ice... getting 50+ a season is good enough with that imo.

I would not have liked this contract if he went to a new team, cuz yeah it'd be hell of a risk paying 6m+ for a defensive forward that may never put up 50+ pts in a shittier team.

Also to recap Dubas,

he trades a 1st to shave 3.8mil of injure prone goalie, then spends 2 picks with 4.7mil cap injure prone goalie.
Makes sense

Matthews to Arizona confirmed when they're ready!

Sorry, i got his point total and burakovskys mixed up, still a good deal for the avs. Especially with the expectation they will be in the mix for a cup for the majority, if not all of the contract.

I mean, it's not an absolute bad signature i can live with it, im just bugging on the 8 years contract, but yet again it's my opinion.
I would have prefered a Kadri/Malkin signature for 2-3 years instead of keeping him at this price..

We have so many talented young played and we should focus on those one instead.

Quote me next season if he make 60+ pts, so i feel bad saying this.

Murray played great for us for a stretch, pretty unbelievable that Leafs bet their last 2 seasons of Matthews on him.

Both of those guys are significantly older, signing them to 3-4 year deals is playing fire, way more so than nunchucks for 8. It is what it is, and you prefer what you prefer, but resigning kadri or malkin to the amount of money they will want is much riskier. Especially when their production inevitably takes a nosedive off a cliff as tends to happen to 30+ year old players... especially after signing a big contract.

Sharks don't qualify Dahlen,

Cull was right, he needed to learn how to play a complete game and give 110% or he's gonna have a tough time succeeding in the NHL.

I hope the kid wakes up and figures his shit out. Took McCann few wake up calls, maybe he will need the same otherwise he will probably fly back to Sweden and play there for life.

Just for comparison how much dahlen struggled after his brief early season streak, PTO Alex fucking Chiasson has 1 more goal than him with the same 22pts and was not a defensive liability on a team like the Canucks, and without any foot speed
