Avs sign Georgiev to 3Y X 3.4m aav

Low cap hit for a starting goalie but a little risky.

Seems Georgiev is good enough to be a starter but has never been one.

Curious to see how much Kuemper gets in free agency. The cost savings can be calculated at that time.

hes only 26 too so if he is good enough he can probably stick around for a bit not like hes a 30+ guy
when you got 30+ guys and winning cups never know who might just retire georgiev should give them some stability

Apparently he does perform well when given regular playing time, just hasn't been able to get much of that behind Shesh... so we'll see.

Pretty much the same contract they gave Grubauer when he first came over, albeit a little bit more proven but not by much. He shared a net with holtby during their cup run and lost it during the playoffs. I feel like if he totally shits the bed Sakic can still go a plan B during the season. Just need him to post a sv% above .900

That's fine for me, aslong as we keep francouz, imo he's a good backup goalie who can clearly play 30 games in a season.

What doesn't make sense is sj has like 3 nhl goalies, and why they're not shopping 1 of them. Optimus rimer at 2mil caphit would be a dream, and he wasn't extremely bad considering the team

Apropos of nothing, just had a look at #Yotes schedule for 2022-23. It's incredible.

20 out of first 24 games are on the road. They play just 2 home games in each of Oct and Nov.

There is no Saturday night home game during NCAA season. (One in Dec during Christmas break.) Wow.

COL will be promoting Chris MacFarland to GM, with Joe Sakic becoming President of Hockey Operations. The Avalanche wisely chose to keep MacFarland rather than allow him to interview with other teams earlier this season.

I really wanted him to be the GM for the Canucks, but at least he is finally getting his chance.
