Wow, I didn't think Giroux only wanting Florida would lower the value that much.


that's the danger of NMC's. Panthers had all the leverage, so for the Flyers either get something OK for Giroux or he walks away for nothing.

the fact Chariot had a modified NTC gave way more flexibility to the Habs to maximize returns.

Sources say Claude Giroux notified #Flyers he was only willing to accept a trade to #FlaPanthers. That was his team, the destination. Florida knew that.

I'm told #Flyers never engaged in conversation with #Avs - or any other team for that matter.

specially if what koj posted is true of him saying only the panthers... kinda happy with the return if thats the case they coulda offered a 2nd and been like take it or leave it lol
rubtsov is also a previous 1st round pick while late in a weak draft year he was also one of the russians on the team that got caught doping and his performance dipped hard after that lol likely a bust but noteworthy

zito lucked out giroux gave the flyers one team and fletcher still got them for a 1st 3rd and prospect it could have been so much worse

I wouldn't say it's "luck" from the Panthers, the matter of fact is that when you're a contender people want to play for your team. For decades, the Panthers were a shitty team whose only draw was no state income tax for players wanting to get away from the spotlight. Now star players want to play with them to win.
