Bettman denied it because he doesn't feel the 30other teams should have to pay it. Cause that's what would happen if nhl covered costs. He (bettman) believes the Blackhawks themselves should cover all costs, which they should.

The Anaheim Ducks announced today that Executive Vice President and General Manager Bob Murray has been placed on administrative leave pending an ongoing investigation related to professional conduct.

Following is a statement from the Anaheim Ducks: "We recently became aware of accusations of improper professional conduct against Bob Murray. After internal review, we enlisted Shephard Mullin to perform an independent investigation. Upon recommendation from their initial findings, we have decided to place Bob on administrative leave pending final results. In the interim, Vice President of Hockey Operations and Assistant General Manager Jeff Solomon will assume the role of Interim General Manager. We will have no further comment until the investigation is complete."

Murray resigning as Ducks GM, will enter alcohol abuse program

"First and foremost, we apologize on behalf of the organization to anyone affected by misconduct from Bob. We expect every member of our organization to be treated with respect and will not stand for abuse of any kind.

Bob tendered his resignation this morning, while also informing us of his decision to enter an alcohol abuse program. While we do not condone his conduct, we fully support his efforts to improve his physical and mental health by asking for help.

We will now begin a methodical, extensive search for a permanent General Manager to lead us forward. We expect to complete this process no later than next summer."

Following is a statement from Bob Murray:

"I want to apologize to anyone adversely affected by my behavior. I vow to make changes to my life, starting with enrolling in a treatment program. I want to thank Henry and Susan Samueli, and Michael Schulman, as working for them has been one of the highlights of my career. As I step away from the Ducks, I will focus my attention on where it should be: improving my life for the betterment of my family and friends."

We will see what happens tomorrow, but it appears as if Ottawa will be putting Matt Murray on waivers. He was scratched today vs Anaheim.

going from back to back cup wins as goalie to being put on waivers

Habs fan rejoice, Habs fire Bergevin and Timmins.

Mellanby interviewed for a promotion but was denied so he resigned yesterday (he was AGM).

Gorton brought in to oversee hockey operations. Great choice.
