2 is kinda the normal number teams dress.

Lel, well I mean one of Treliving's major blunders was starting 15/16 with 3 goalies in the NHL. That didn't go so well.

Hamilton - Giordano
Brodie - Hamonic
Stone - Kulak

So we've easily got one of the best D cores in the league now. But we've got some high quality D prospects in Kylington, Andersen, Fox and now Valimaki. So... I'm not sure I like this signing because now there's even more of a logjam. Guess we're trading D prospects for NHL right wingers in the very near future.

3 of those contracts expire in 3 years and all seem to relatively decent value so moving them if nessecary shouldn't be an issue. It's not unusual or even behind schedule for a young d-man to be nhl ready by around 22.

True. I guess some of those guys had a chance to make the team this year, but no longer. Next year they might have, but now I dunno. There's still a logjam at D prospects, which, well, is probably the best problem to have in the NHL. So come and get em I guess.

I realize I'm about a week late but I was camping all last week and didnt have any internet/cell reception... so suck it :P

Anyways, the Flames d-corp has looked the most solid of any Flames team I've seen. The closest previous was 07 or 08 when we added Bouwmeester to Reg/Gio/Sarich/Phaneuf but that didnt pan out. They are all on exceptionally reasonable deals, so if we end up with a log jam of players because of prospects developing then we can easily trade them. Locking assets up at good prices (especially d-men) are worth gold in this league. Mike Smith must be one happy man.

Amazed that Foo signed with Calgary, very encouraging to see FAs seeing the potential for success here. Not sold he'll be anything exceptional but always good to have talent in the organization. Hopefully he's the solution to my dilemma below.

Still not happy with our RW depth. Right now we basically dont have any real #1 and Frolik is locked on the 3M line, lots of hoping that Ferland can play with Jonny/Monny but if that doesnt work out it doesnt look promising.

So Poirier's struggles on the farm team is now officially out as alcholism. Dude came forward with it all this week, and is working together with Brian Mcgratten to figure it out. Ferland's obviously also sober, mostly because of Hartley, so he'll probably help him out too. Anyway, he may not be a bust after all, if he can clean it up and get series like Ferly. Also, we've gotta keep Mcgratten in the organization somehow.

Yeah I was reading about that too. Really hope the guy turns it around.

Alcoholism is a lot more rampant in major junior to pro hockey than people realize... I used to work with a guy who was the coach of the Kootenay Ice for a period of time. He said he saw tons of talented guys come in and their careers end because of excessive partying.

E; McGrattan is a fucking beauty. Gets demoted to AHL and does nothing but help guys out. Mad respect for him.
