overpaying by a good margin and losing a 1st and a 3rd on top of that seems like a high price make you weenie feel bigger for a couple days

Would you accept a 1st and 3rd pick for kk straight up though? I think bergi would want more than just picks imo.

Overpaying him for just 1 season while they contend isn't as bad as forcing Habs to overpay for this season though

but not everybody is in that situation so they should be able to fill out the sales on weekday games
idk ive come home late like 12-1am from events to go to work at 7am the next day if its something worth while you do it

and the old arena they used works for other sports but didnt seem to work for the yotes the drive isnt the issue its the general location of the team and too much competition with other pro sport teams
and what do you mean we got nothing better to do? in the winter we got all kinds of fun shit to do

I just dont think you fully understand the situation. Many, many fans, even die hard fans, will not go to see their teams play in person if they have to drive 1hr+ each way in traffic, have crappy ownership or no ownership, and have a crappy team to watch.

These are the biggest issues with Arizona and their lack of attendance. There are very few markets in the nhl capable of holding an in person fan base with all those issues. If you put those same issues in quebec city, it would be no different.

leafs had terrible management and teams for years and still sold out and leafs fans would drive to buffalo just to see games
ottawa has arguably the worst owner in nhl history and still do better then the yotes even with the fans boycotting melnyk
montreal is usually always around the top too and they havnt been great either

you really think putting the yotes in quebec wouldnt be an improvement? sure maybe not a top team if they have every issue in the book but still an improvement none the less

You're comparing Toronto, the mecca of hockey, to Arizona. As I said, outside of the 6 to 8 traditional hockey markets, if you have crappy ownership, a crappy team, and an awful commute to the rink, you won't get fans. Quebec city is not Montreal or Toronto, and Ottawa's situation isn't much better than arizona

You simply cannot have a crappy arena location and crappy ownership for as long as the coyotes have and expect people to spend their time and money on your product.

When ownership comes around and either ices a highly competitive team and/or gets a rink in a better location for the fanbase, well be able to properly judge the situation

the yotes have had teams in the playoffs and the fans still never went nobody in arizona gives a fuck about hockey their own fucking arena stated they have better bigger $$ earning events to host
people are willing to drive to those i guess but not a coyotes game though cause its too far
and if the owner is bad whos to blame for that? bettman basilie shoulda got that team and relocated them like he wanted

even if its not to quebec that teams been failing for years and its not going to change at least move it somewhere it has a chance

for all the good bettman has done for this league hes forced the yotes to fail in a market that doesnt want them because he knows the potential if they ever grabbed a big enough audience
but they dont there is too much competition i even game with multiple people from az not a single one of them gives a fuck about the yotes and hockey and they pretty much all love sports that arent hockey

I think the coyotes would do better if they played where the Suns play

but they do have a nice arena that is across the street from where Arizona Cardinals play

edit: UFC went to Glendale instead of Suns' arena in June

is the suns where the yotes were before? cause on tsn the mentioned where the suns play but said its more a stadium now they retrofitted it and its not good for an nhl arena now or something
im sure if they really wanted too they could make it work but it would cost money for a team losing $$ it would take some major faith
and considering their current arena is like gtfo we can host better events you lose money and havnt paid your current contract i feel like getting major faith commitment would be seriously hard

but tbh bettman wants the coyotes there so bad he might just take the nhls money and build them their own arena and gift it to them just so they cant be forced out

Yeah, when the team left Winnipeg they played where suns play, it's an older stadium

it's odd, Cardinals and Coyotes play across from each other, and the Suns and Diamondbacks play across from each other

but the Suns will be wanting a new arena soon
